Development is a complex process; it is the product of the interaction of the elements that are related to the movement and progress of society as a result of quantitative and qualitative changes in people's lives over a period of time. This research aims to identify the principles of social development, which are features, objectives, elements, examples and principles of community development planning, as well as to present some of the obstacles that have faced social development in underdeveloped countries. The results of the study indicate that social development leads to change in society and improve the livelihood of individuals in society, however, in the underdeveloped countries, there are many obstacles that prevent it.
